Our program offers intensive 7-week clinical internships to future physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech language pathologists, educators, and professionals in related fields. It provides hands-on training in evidence-based practices, working with children with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Supervision, mentorship, and instruction (and strong letters of recommendations) are provided by leading faculty at the University of Washington, including the School of Medicine and School of Education, and Seattle Children’s. Students can also receive course and internship credit. Graduate and undergraduate positions are available, including paid positions depending on experience. Staff Applications open in the fall. INTERNSHIP FAQS

Our counselors are graduate and undergraduate students from across the country, training to be psychologists, physicians, educators, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, nurses, etc. Applicants should have some introductory college coursework in a related field (e.g. psychology, education, medicine). Our summer treatment program provides an incredible opportunity to learn evidence-based practices hands on, working directly with children with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and related neurodevelopmental profiles.

The internship includes 2 weeks of intensive training ranging from didactic sessions to thorough practice of program components. Essential topics span etiology of neurodevelopmental disabilities, applied behavior analysis, pivotal response treatment, data-based outcome monitoring, and social skills training. A 5-week intervention program follows, where you will work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including consulting physicians, licensed psychologists, board certified behavior analysts, and other professionals.

Start by completing the brief application which will open in the fall, please be ready to submit:
1) A current curriculum vitae (CV or resume)
2) Your college transcript (unofficial copy OK)
3) Two letters of reference from individuals not related to you that can speak to your experience and potential to contribute to our program. Ideally, at least one letter should attest to your work with children.

We review applications on a rolling basis. Once your application has been reviewed and processed, we will reach out to you to schedule a video interview. While there is no hard deadline for applying, we encourage prospective staff to apply as soon as possible in order to be considered.

Housing and housing scholarships are offered based on availability. No additional paperwork is necessary to be considered for a housing scholarship, and applicants will be notified of what options might be available to them during the interview process.

Paid positions may be available depending on experience. Students may also receive course and internship credit through their university. Some universities may also provide stipends for summer internships. Reach out to us with any questions you might have!

The internship runs for 7 weeks, from June 14 through July 30, 2027. There is no program on June 19 and July 5. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00a – 5:00p.
